Situated at Kangaroo Point with magnificent views of the Brisbane River and the city, Marycrest Hostel and Lilian Cooper Nursing Home were opened by the Sisters of Charity in 1977 and offer both high and low care accommodation.

Our residents enjoy a range of facilities and services, including our library, hairdressing salon, recreation room, communal lounges, gardens and the beautiful interdenominational Giovanni Chapel. Residents also have access to our caring Pastoral Care workers who will assist with any spiritual needs.

Both the Hostel and the Nursing Home have received three years’ accreditation with the Aged Care Standards Agency.

Marycrest Hostel

Marycrest is a 159-bed low care residential aged care facility offering quality care in a stimulating environment.

Residents at Marycrest are provided with:

  • A single room with a private ensuite, furnished with standard furniture that allows residents to personalise the space with their own belongings and decorations
  • A Registered Nurse to administer medical requirement
  • Personal carers at hand to help with daily living needs
  • Physiotherapists to assist with mobility and fitness
  • Our qualified Leisure and Recreation team who are always creating wonderful activities and outings.

Living at Marycrest offers residents security and care while encouraging them to maintain their independence.

Lilian Cooper Nursing Home

The Lilian Cooper Nursing Home is located on the top floor of the Marycrest building and offers high care accommodation with 30 beds. Rooms at the Nursing Home range from private ensuited rooms to shared rooms with shared facilities.

Lilian Cooper is proud of its reputation as a wonderful nursing home, where families can be assured that loved ones are treated with the very best care and respect.

Parking and transport

Parking is available in the carpark of the Mt Olivet Hospital at a cost of $5 a day (before 2:30pm Monday to Friday - without a permit).

Bus: There is a bus stop directly outside the hospital, or one on the other side of the street (use either the underpass if getting off at Stop 6 just after the bridge, or the overhead pedestrian walkway if getting off further down opposite Kangaroo Point TAFE).

Ferry: the cross-river city ferry from Eagle Street Pier in the city stops at Thornton Street, which is within easy walking distance of the hospital.
